The City of Richmond Police Department is seeking self-directed and detail-oriented candidates for the position of Crime Analyst. This role performs administrative, strategic and tactical crime analysis, compiling and disseminating data relevant to crime trends and intelligence.

The incumbent will work with relational databases, GIS (ArcGIS Pro/Enterprise), and statistics, requiring strong computer proficiency and professional interaction within a police hierarchy. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in forensic science, criminal justice, police science, or a related field.
• Two years of related experience.
• An equivalent combination of training and experience may be used to meet minimum qualifications.

Responsabilités

• Performing analysis using various research methods and tools to track crime incidents.
• Compile complex statistical reports and identify crime and forecast trends.
• Interpret and apply regulations, procedures in a law enforcement environment.
• Assist investigators in casework utilizing law enforcement databases and tools.
