Job summary

The Town of Apex is seeking a Crime Analyst I to analyze crime and traffic data to support investigative and operational activities. You will research, analyze and prepare crime statistics and reports, review reports for accuracy, and merge data into RMS while ensuring compliance with state and department requirements.

The role involves designing GIS maps, creating CAD layers for Apex CAD, and producing routine and ad-hoc analytical outputs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher not required; entry level with relevant coursework or experience in crime statistics/analysis.
• Strong numerical and analytical能力 to interpret data and produce intelligible reports.
• DCI certification within 6 months of hire is expected or required.

Responsibilities

• Perform statistical and geographical analyses of crime and traffic data to support investigations and operational tactics.
• Extract data from RMS, open sources, and other databases for covert or confidential research.
• Design and create maps and GIS layers to display crime trends and hot spots.
• Prepare and present analytical reports to internal stakeholders and external partners as needed.
• Query RMS and other systems to generate end-of-month statistics and special reports.
• Assist in data quality control and data migration within RMS/CAD GIS environments.
