Job summary

Lewis Tree Service is seeking a Crew Leader to supervise utility vegetation management crews, ensuring safe tree trimming and line clearance for electric utilities and customers. You’ll plan tasks, train staff, and uphold safety policies while maintaining equipment and records.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in tree crews or utility vegetation management, strong leadership, and knowledge of ANSI Z133 and A300 standards. CDL and CPR/First Aid are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience in a tree crew or utility vegetation management.
• Knowledge of ANSI Z133 safety requirements and A300 pruning standards.
• Ability to identify poisonous plants and interpret circuit maps.
• Ability to operate and train in aerial lift systems and climbing gear.
• CDL license and required medical certification when applicable.
• RCP and first aid trained or provided by the employer.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily crew operations and ensure safe, efficient work practices.
• Plan and assign tasks based on crew skills and job requirements.
• Monitor performance, train new hires, and manage promotions or discipline.
• Maintain up-to-date contact information and report availability concerns.
• Conduct field training, ensure crew readiness, and enforce safety standards.
• Communicate with property owners and coordinate access and permissions.
