Job summary

Lewis Tree Service is hiring a Crew Leader to supervise utility vegetation management crews in outdoor environments. You will oversee tree trimming, removal near energized lines, equipment operation, and crew safety while coordinating with customers and utility reps.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of crew leadership experience, ANSI safety knowledge, and CPR/First Aid certification. Travel, training, and strong communication are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a tree crew or utility vegetation management.
• Solid knowledge of ANSI Z133 Safety Requirements and A300 Pruning Standards.
• Proficiency in identifying poisonous plants.
• Understanding of electrical circuits and circuit maps.
• Advanced tree ascent/descent using ropes and safety saddle; aerial lift ops.
• Crew Leader certification or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily tree crew operations ensuring safe, efficient work; provide training, onboarding, coaching, and discipline.
• Plan and assign tasks based on crew skills and job requirements.
• Monitor crew performance and manage new hires for training and promotions.
• Maintain updated contact information and report availability/fitness-for-duty to the General Foreman.
• Conduct field trainings and briefings to ensure crew readiness.
• Enforce safety standards, policies, and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
