Job summary

Lewis Tree Service is seeking a Crew Leader to supervise daily vegetation management tasks for utility and private clients. You’ll train, onboard, and discipline crew members, ensuring safe and efficient pruning and clearance near energized lines.

Strong leadership and safety adherence are essential. The role requires at least 3 years in a tree crew or utility vegetation setting, with knowledge of ANSI Z133 safety standards and A300 pruning guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in tree crew or utility vegetation management.
• Familiar with ANSI Z133 and A300 pruning standards.
• Ability to identify poisonous plants and interpret circuit maps.
• Proficient in rope ascent/descent and aerial lift operations.
• Cert in Crew Leader knowledge or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL as needed; medical certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily tree crew operations and ensure safe, efficient work practices.
• Plan and assign tasks based on crew skills and job requirements.
• Monitor crew performance and conduct training, onboarding, and promotions.
• Maintain up-to-date contact information and report availability or fitness for duty.
• Conduct field trainings and job briefings; enforce safety standards and policies.
• Identify hazards and implement safeguards; manage weather-related work decisions.
• Perform and direct tree trimming, removal, and clearance near energized lines.
• Operate equipment including trucks, chippers, aerial lifts, and saws.
