Job summary

Lewis Services is seeking a Crew Leader to oversee utility vegetation management crews. You will supervise tree trimming and line clearance, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to standards in outdoor environments.

This role requires leadership, strong communication, and experience with ropes, aerial lifts, and field safety training. Expect frequent travel and opportunities for advancement within a growing ESOP company.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in a tree crew or utility vegetation management.
• Knowledge of ANSI Z133 Safety Requirements and A300 Pruning Standards.
• Proficient in identifying poisonous plants.
• Basic electrical circuit knowledge and ability to read circuit maps.
• CPR and First Aid certification (provided by Lewis).
• Valid driver’s license; CDL as needed; medical certification where required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily tree crew operations with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Plan and assign tasks based on crew members’ skills and job requirements.
• Monitor crew performance, including training, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain up-to-date contact information for crew members and report availability or fitness concerns.
• Conduct field training and safety briefings to ensure crew readiness.
• Promote safety standards and enforce company policies on the job site.
• Travel frequently, including overnight stays, as required.
• Maintain records of crew performance, incidents, and equipment issues.
