Job summary

Insurcomm Restoration in Richmond, VA, seeks a Lead Mitigation Technician (Crew Chief) to lead emergency restoration projects for homes and businesses after fire, water, mold, or storms. You will supervise crews, set safety standards, and ensure timely, quality work per IICRC guidelines.

This full-time field role offers competitive hourly pay starting at $23-26 per hour, dependent on experience, with growth opportunities within Fortify Companies through hands-on leadership and training.

Qualifications

• IICRC WRT certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
• Prior experience in restoration, mitigation, or construction.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a crew and manage job site workflow.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in varying environments.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong social awareness and customer service mindset.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to navigate Microsoft Teams and complete onsite documentation using industry software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise mitigation crews on residential and commercial job sites.
• Respond to emergency mitigation calls and assess property damage caused by fire, water, mold, and weather-related events.
• Perform and oversee water extraction, structural drying, and mitigation services in accordance with IICRC standards.
• Develop drying plans and monitor progress to ensure proper equipment placement and moisture goals are met.
• Remove and dispose of damaged building materials safely and efficiently.
• Decontaminate, clean, and deodorize affected interior spaces.
• Document job progress through photos, moisture readings, and detailed notes using PSA and other required software.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, adjusters, and internal teams.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
• Train and mentor Mitigation Technicians to uphold quality and safety standards.
