Job summary

Carrier is seeking a Lead Designer in Charlotte, NC to translate engineering requirements into robust, manufacturable product designs for NPD and Sustaining Engineering. You will model with CAD (Creo), refine layouts, perform design reviews, and guide offshore resources while mentoring junior designers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5+ years of product design experience OR Associate’s Degree with 3+ years of product design experience.
• 2+ years of Creo Parametric experience in complex modeling, assemblies, and drawing development.
• 2+ years of experience maintaining large assembly structures and engineering documentation using Creo.
• 2+ years of experience reviewing 3D models, drawings, and BOMs for accuracy.
• 1+ years of experience with Creo sheet metal design and design release processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine CAD models, layouts, assemblies, and detailed design implementations.
• Translate engineering requirements into practical design solutions.
• Lead packaging, integration, fit-up, and manufacturability evaluations.
• Perform design reviews of models, drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Mentor less experienced designers and guide offshore resources.
