Actalent seeks a Design Engineer in Charlotte, NC, to develop system components and assemblies from concept to production. You will prototype, analyze stresses, and ensure safety and cost-effectiveness while coordinating with vendors and supporting installations.

Qualifications

• BSME or Associate degree preferred.
• 2+ years in a similar design role.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and measure with ruler and calipers.
• Knowledge of mechanical codes and use of hand, power, and machine tools.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
• Passion for design and automation.
• Hands-on approach to building and testing prototypes.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design system components and assemblies focusing on aesthetics, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
• Prototype and perform stress analysis to ensure design robustness.
• Coordinate with vendors to request quotes and approve components.
• Prepare technical drawings and BOM revisions.
• Oversee the design-to-manufacturing process, including installation and support.
• Hands-on manufacturing of design prototypes.
• Contribute to system engineering and installation drawings.
• Provide engineering support during installations and follow-up.
• Assist with sales demonstrations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
