Job summary

Blackstone seeks an Investment Associate for the Credit Strategy team within BXMA in New York. The role focuses on underwriting investments, building complex financial models, and researching strategies across public and private markets.

You will help analyze exposures across asset classes including structured and corporate credit, asset-based finance, and real assets, presenting findings to senior management and investment committees.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in investment banking, leveraged finance, credit investing, structured products, or a hedge fund / asset management platform.
• Strong financial modeling skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Intellectually curious with a deep interest in markets.
• Self-starter, independently drive analysis and develop investment views.
• Team-oriented, collaborating across investment teams.
• Programming or data analysis experience (Python, SQL, VBA, or similar) is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Investment Sourcing & Underwriting: Working with broader team to source and conduct due diligence for prospective investments within the Credit space, including sourcing and underwriting public and private strategies across a wide range of asset classes.
• Portfolio Analysis: Continuous evaluation of existing portfolio exposures (across fund investments/partnerships, direct investments, and co-investments), including tracking key positions, themes, and exposures within portfolios, regular conversations with fund managers and industry participants, and challenging/stress-testing investment theses.
• Structuring: Assisting in structuring investments across partnerships, funds, co-investments, and direct transactions. Analyzing legal documentation, covenant structures, and transaction terms.
• Senior-Level Leadership Presentation: Creating materials for investment committees, regular portfolio discussions, and updates for senior management and external investors.
