Job summary

TPG in New York seeks an Analyst for Investor Reporting and Data Engineering. You will own monthly and quarterly investor reports, build automated SQL/Python pipelines, and create Power BI dashboards drawing from Databricks and SQL Server for institutional investors.

You'll partner with portfolio management, investor relations, and operations, manage timelines, validate data, and deliver timely insights while scaling automation and maintaining code quality in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of data analytics, BI, or finance analytics experience (asset management/financial services preferred).
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for data extraction, transformation, and automation.
• Hands-on experience building automated workflows and data pipelines in Databricks.
• Experience with Power BI or similar BI platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, complex formulas, pivot tables).
• Demonstrated use of AI tools for coding or problem-solving.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end production and delivery of monthly and quarterly investor reports, performance summaries, regulatory templates, and exposure analyses; build and maintain automated SQL/Python pipelines and Power BI dashboards that transform raw data from Databricks and SQL Server into reporting-ready outputs for institutional investors.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders across portfolio management, investor relations, fund accounting, and operations; proactively manage reporting timelines, gather requirements, validate data, and resolve discrepancies while maintaining strong, trust-based relationships across technical and non-technical teams.
• Design and implement robust automation workflows using SQL, Python, Alteryx, and Power BI to eliminate manual processes and improve efficiency; write production-quality, well-documented code with built-in validation and reconciliation controls that ensure data accuracy before deliverables reach stakeholders.
• Translate complex business needs into technical solutions; communicate effectively across audiences, elevate issues appropriately, and demonstrate flexibility and ownership during quarterly reporting cycles and time-sensitive deadlines—willing to go the extra mile to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Leverage AI tools strategically to accelerate code development, troubleshoot technical issues, and enhance analytical workflows; apply rigorous validation to ensure accuracy and reliability of AI-generated outputs.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to standardize reporting processes and scale team capacity; stay current with emerging tools and best practices in data analytics and BI; bring fresh ideas to improve workflows.
• Contribute to team documentation; maintain code repositories, document standard operating procedures, and share technical insights that elevate the entire team's capabilities
