Job summary

Farmers Home Furniture is seeking a Credit/Accounts Receivable supervisor to coordinate and oversee credit operations and collections for customer accounts. The role involves approving or declining lines of credit, performing credit investigations, and ensuring proper procedures that minimize losses while growing receivables.

The position also entails supervising staff, managing workflows, and preparing documents for potential legal action.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; three (3) years experience in accounting/bookkeeping, loan processing, and/or collections.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.
• Experience coordinating and supervising staff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and leads assigned staff to attain efficient office and credit operations.
• Oversees accounts receivable and collection activities.
• Reviews and evaluates applications; investigates and verifies financial status; approves or rejects credit; establishes credit limits.
• Contacts customers to collect overdue payments; mails notices to encourage payment; may visit customers' locations for collections.
• Maintains proper documentation of all correspondence with customers.
• Prepares paperwork for potential legal action against severely delinquent accounts; submits to attorney or outside agency with Store Manager approval.
