Job summary

The Accounts Receivable Credit Analyst role in Addison, IL manages credit accounts, sets credit limits, releases credit-held orders, and follows up on past-due balances while working with Sales and internal teams to resolve issues.

Essential tasks include reviewing credit information, producing AR reports, and maintaining records in line with company policies and credit guidelines to keep orders moving smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Accounting preferred.
• 3+ years in credit, accounts receivable, collections, accounting, or related area.
• Experience with credit limits, collections, or accounts receivable preferred.
• Ability to review credit reports and payment history and make sound decisions.
• General understanding of accounts receivable and basic accounting principles.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to partner with Sales and customers to resolve credit and payment issues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and maintain customer credit limits for new and existing customers in accordance with company guidelines.
• Review and release credit-held orders throughout the day, coordinating with Sales to minimize delays.
• Perform AR collections by phone, email, and written communication; follow up on past-due balances.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, short payments, overpayments, and disputes with Sales and internal teams.
• Review credit reports, payment history, trade references, and other customer data to support new account setup and credit limits.
• Complete periodic customer credit reviews and update limits based on payment history and guidelines.
• Monitor AR aging and past-due balances; take appropriate follow-up actions.
• Prepare mid-month and month-end credit and AR reports; participate in reporting calls with Sales leadership.
• Maintain accurate customer credit and AR records and follow company policies.
• Build positive working relationships with Sales and customers while resolving credit and payment issues.
