Job summary

The Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) is seeking part-time school-based Credible Messengers to support safe arrivals and dismissals in NYC public schools. This role emphasizes relationship-building with students, conflict de-escalation, and connecting youth to case management resources through a two-person team with a MSW Field Provider.

Responsibilities include creating a welcoming environment, observing for safety concerns, and collaborating with school personnel

Qualifications

• Experience building positive, trusting relationships with youth.
• Commitment to CAT/RFCUNY safety protocols and required training.
• Strong communication and collaborative abilities with school staff and partners.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a two-person arrival and dismissal team member.
• Maintain a visible, approachable presence during arrival/dismissal periods.
• Engage with students to foster safety, belonging and positive behavior.
• Identify safety concerns and escalate appropriately within CAT structure.
• Link students to appropriate supports and community resources.
