Job summary

RFCUNY's Creative Arts Team seeks a part-time, school-based Credible Messenger for arrival and dismissal support. You will lead engagement and de-escalation efforts with students during designated periods, in collaboration with a MSW Field Provider and CAT supervisors.

This role focuses on safe transitions, relationship-building, and linking students to case management or community resources. Bachelor's degree required; 17 hours/week at NYC public schools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience building positive, trusting relationships with adolescents.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as member of a two-person arrival and dismissal team with MSW Field Provider.
• Maintain a consistent, visible, and approachable presence during school arrival/dismissal.
• Build positive relationships with students and school community.
• Observe environment and recognize safety and well-being concerns.
• Use de-escalation strategies and safe verbal engagement.
• Connect students to CAT resources and plan for supports as needed.
• Participate in planning, supervision, training, and program documentation.
