Job summary

Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) seeks a part-time Credible Messenger for the Creative Arts Team to support school arrival and dismissal. You will lead engagement with students, maintain a safe, welcoming environment, and coordinate with the MSW Field Provider to link youth to services.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and strong communication skills; advanced degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience developing positive, trusting relationships with adolescents and young adults.
• Strong communication, listening, judgment, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with social workers, school personnel, community partners, and program leadership.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of a two-person arrival and dismissal team with an MSW Field Provider.
• Maintain a visible, approachable presence during designated school arrival/dismissal periods.
• Build positive relationships with students and school community members.
• Use approved verbal engagement, redirection, and de-escalation strategies to support safety and well-being.
• Identify students needing additional support and connect them to CAT resources.
