ABOUT THE ROLE
The Credentialing Coordinator (Specialist) is responsible for coordinating the credentialing process for healthcare providers, ensuring that all necessary documentation is collected, verified, and submitted in a timely manner. This role involves maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing excellent customer service to clinicians and internal partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital and managed care credentialing standards.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- The Credentialing Coordinator (Specialist) is responsible for assisting in, coordinating, monitoring, and maintaining the credentialing and re-credentialing process
- Ensures interpretation and compliance with the appropriate accrediting and regulatory agencies, while developing and maintaining a working knowledge of internal policies and procedures
- Processes credentialing files according to requirements in a timely manner for successful delegation and credentialing by proxy
- Utilize the credentialing database and internal systems to monitor and track status of applications and maintenance of initial and recredentialing files
- Proactively identifies issues that require additional investigation and evaluation, validates discrepancies and ensures appropriate follow-up
- Responds to inquiries from clinicians and internal and external customers on day-to-day credentialing issues as they arise
- Performs other duties as needed
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 3 years of experience directly related to clinical staff credentialing or managed care organization provider credentialing
- Knowledge of TJC and NCQA standards
- CPCS or CPMSM Certification by NAMSS preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building
- Ability to remain flexible, multitask and meet strict deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in using MS Office, credentialing software, and data entry systems
POSITION LOGISTICS
- 100% remote position
- Required to have a private office space in home or elsewhere for confidentiality
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- The pay range for this role is $25 - $32 an hour. This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position using current market data. The final offer will be determined based on an individual's skills, years of experience, education, capacity, licenses, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
