Job summary

Heart + Paw in King of Prussia, PA is seeking a Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians with exams, surgeries, and patient care. You will collect samples, prepare for procedures, manage allergies and inventories, and assist with radiographs and anesthesia monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Licensure required: Veterinary Technician licensure in this state.
  • Experience: 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Client-centric focus: strong communication and lasting relationships.
  • Physical stamina: lift 20+ lbs and work in fast-paced settings.
  • Certifications (preferred): Fear Free and HABRI or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with routine appointments, surgeries, and patient care.
  • Collect and process diagnostic samples, administer medications, and prepare for surgeries.
  • Record patient histories and manage pharmaceutical inventories.
  • Take radiographs including dental X-rays and perform ultrasonic dental cleanings.
  • Monitor anesthesia, dress wounds, and assist with catheterization and ear care.
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain treatment areas.
  • Educate clients on preventive care, dental hygiene, and nutrition.
  • Collaborate with the team and assist with onboarding new employees.
  • Promote services like grooming, daycare, and retail offerings.

The pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position and is determined based on experience, skill set, location and other factors.

Pay Range

$20 - $24 USD
