Job summary

Heart + Paw in Cherry Hill, NJ seeks a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join a collaborative, pet‑focused team. You will assist veterinarians during routine appointments, surgeries, and patient care, while maintaining detailed records and supporting client education.

You will perform radiographs including dental X‑rays, monitor anesthesia, and help with instrument sterilization in a state‑of‑the‑art facility designed for low‑stress pet care.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician in NJ with clinical experience.
  • Strong client communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfort with radiographs, dentistry, anesthesia, and meds.
  • Physically capable of lifting 20+ lbs in a fast-paced env.
  • Willingness to pursue Fear Free/HABRI certifications.
  • Collaborative team player who supports onboarding and patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians with routine appointments, surgeries, and patient care.
  • Collect and process diagnostic samples, administer medications, and prepare for surgeries.
  • Record patient histories and manage pharmaceutical inventories.
  • Take and interpret radiographs, including dental X-rays; perform ultrasonic dental cleanings.
  • Monitor anesthesia, dress wounds, and assist with catheterization and ear flushes.
  • Sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment areas; maintain a clean facility.
  • Educate clients on preventive care, dental hygiene, nutrition, and more.
  • Support onboarding of new employees and promote team collaboration.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Licensure Required: Veterinary Technician licensure in this state
  • Experience: 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Client‑Centric Focus: Strong communication skills and a passion for building lasting relationships.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 20+ lbs. and work in a fast‑paced, sometimes emotionally demanding environment.
  • Technological Savvy: Interest in using technology to improve veterinary care and client experience.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Fear Free and HABRI certification or a willingness to achieve them.
