Job summary

Heart + Paw in Marlton, NJ is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join a pet-centered team. You will assist veterinarians and technicians during exams and procedures while ensuring patient comfort.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams and surgeries.
  • Monitor and care for pets to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Collect samples and perform diagnostics under supervision.
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments.
  • Record patient medical history and inventory logs.
  • Prepare rooms for appointments and surgery.
  • Educate pet parents on preventive care, nutrition, and behavior.
  • Support low-stress handling practices during all interactions.
  • Assist with radiographs, dental procedures, and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Maintain a clean, disease-free center environment.
  • Promote center services (grooming, daycare, boarding).
