Qualifications

• Must be credentialed and have 1 year of veterinary practice experience.
• Strong communication with clients; ability to educate pet owners.
• Proficient in telephone communication and computer record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients; obtain weight and vital signs; document in EMR.
• Assist veterinarian with appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia.
• Perform restraint, collect lab samples, dispense medications under supervision, and maintain EMR.
• Schedule appointments; educate clients; relay test results; manage inventories and records; handle accounts receivable.
• Prepare patients for surgeries and dental procedures; monitor anesthetized patients and recovery; discharge or transfer as needed.
• Provide in-hospital treatments, administer medications, and care for patients; assist with walks when necessary.
• Participate in training of new staff and share knowledge; keep hospital clean and organized.
• Perform additional duties; provide backup front desk support.
