Job Summary
The Creative Technology Lead serves as a crucial link between conceptualization and execution, overseeing the development and integration of software, electronics, and mechanical elements within the company's installations. Drawing upon a comprehensive background in robotics, fabrication, electrical and mechanical engineering, and programming, the individual in this role will lead the design, testing, and construction of creative technologies for the company's experiential projects.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
Strategic Oversight
- Supervise and establish best practices for system design and integration, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project objectives.
- Actively contribute to the Creative Technology team and collaborate with the broader VTproDesign team in planning hardware integration for both short-term and long-term projects.
- Assist the department leadership team in developing and articulating the integration of technology into projects
Team Management
- Manage the creation and integration of reliable systems, including component integration, fabrication methodology, and comprehensive documentation.
- Lead and support the design, testing, modification, fabrication, and assembly of hardware and electromechanical systems based on project requirements.
- Mentor junior team members and provide guidance with learning current and new technologies
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Manage resources effectively to meet project timelines and objectives
- Lead onsite installations, directing troubleshooting efforts and solving technical issues related to electromechanical and software systems.
- Collaborate with Production, Creative, Fabrication, and External Vendor teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, programmers, fabricators, and vendors, to guide the execution strategy for Creative Technology and hardware systems.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their creative and technical requirements
- Collaborate on the design and review of electrical layouts, mechanical drawings, site plans, and contribute to technical and design reviews.
Technical Expertise
- Lead and support the assembly of electromechanical systems, from simple to complex.
- Contribute to research, development, and implementation of new tools, processes, and technologies.
- Oversee the maintenance efforts for existing and future long-term installations.
Workspace Management
- Assist with planning, organization, and maintenance of the Creative Technology workspace(s).
- Undertake ad hoc responsibilities within Creative Technology as needed.
Physical requirements include, but are not limited to, the following
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds individually and occasionally in excess of 100 pounds in a team lift.
- Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, lay down, and climb ladders or stairs as needed to perform tasks such as accessing low or high components on builds, installation, inspecting or repairing installed technology, or retrieving items from storage areas.
- Physical activities required of this job include, but are not limited to: bending, carrying, climbing, crouching, feeling, finger movement, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, rapid work speed, speaking, reaching, repetitive motions, seeing, sitting, standing, stooping, talking, twisting, walking, and walking on irregular surfaces.
Working Conditions
- Working environment may include exposure to noise, dust, vibrations, hazardous chemicals, moving objects and other factors typically found in a warehouse and/or job site setting.
- Working environment may occasionally include working outside, in inclement weather, with exposure to extreme temperatures, areas of poor visibility, wet and/or humid conditions
- Full Time
- Salary Exempt
- Salary range from $130,000.00 to $160,000.00 annually
- Located in East Los Angeles, CA
- Work is IN OFFICE , Monday through Friday
- Office Hours: 9:00am to 6:00 pm
- May be required to work evening, weekend, or holiday shifts, depending on business needs
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as necessary
