Job summary

Michaels Stores in Plano, TX is seeking an enthusiastic Event Coordinator to plan and deliver engaging, kid-friendly events inside the store. You’ll help customers, guide them to products, and ensure a fast, friendly checkout while delivering our Brand Promises.

You’ll coordinate birthdays and craft classes, supervise activities such as face painting, manage add-ons, and communicate clearly with clients and store teams. Flexibility for evenings and weekends is required to support store events.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic attitude required.
• Excellent people skills and communication abilities.
• Experience working with children and children’s events preferred.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Retail or customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events (birthday parties, crafts classes) in-store.
• Engage with customers of all ages and assist with product selection.
• Demonstrate and guide craft activities, face painting as needed.
• Coordinate add-ons (goody bags, balloons) and communicate plans to clients and staff.
• Handle administrative tasks: emails, calls, paperwork.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety during events and daily operations.
