Job summary

Michaels Stores in Salt Lake City is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and run in-store events, including children’s parties, crafting classes, and add-ons. You’ll help customers shop, assist with checkout, enroll guests in Rewards and Private Label programs, and support omni-channel processes.

The role requires strong communication, people skills, organization, and experience with children’s events. Retail experience preferred.

• Energetic, enthusiastic personality with strong guest interaction.
• Experience working with children and children’s events.
• Excellent communication, written, verbal and nonverbal.
• Retail or customer service experience required.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; creative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants and assist with add-ons like goody bags and balloons.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; complete administrative tasks as needed.
• Support omni-channel processes (BOPIS/SFS) and participate in stock and planogram duties.
• Uphold safety and cleanliness standards; assist with store recovery and customer service.
