Job summary

The Michaels Companies, Inc. in DET-SOUTHGATE, MI is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and deliver in-store activities, including children’s birthday parties, crafts classes, and other events.

You will engage guests, teach projects, and ensure a fun, safe, and organized experience. You will also assist customers, guide shopping, support checkout, enroll customers in Rewards and Private Label Credit Cards, and help manage omni-channel processes such as BOPIS and SFS.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other crafts/classes.
• Engage clients of all ages and create an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in crafts; perform face painting and activities.
• Facilitate add-ons like goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Assist customers in shopping and provide solutions; ensure fast checkout.
• Enroll customers in Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards.
• Support omni-channel processes (BOPIS, SFS).
• Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes.
• Ensure store cleanliness and safety; set up/break down events.
