Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Livonia, MI seeks an Event Coordinator to plan and run children’s parties and in-store events. You’ll engage guests of all ages, guide craft activities, and coordinate event add-ons to company standards.

You will manage client communications, schedule tasks with store teams, and handle administrative duties while ensuring safety and a positive, fun environment for guests.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent people skills.
• Experience working with children and children’s events.
• Good written, verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and creative problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events at once (children’s parties, crafts).
• Engage guests of all ages and create a fun environment.
• Demonstrate and guide craft activities; perform face painting and similar activities.
• Coordinate add-ons (goody bags, balloons) to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Handle administrative tasks (emails, calls, paperwork).
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and create backup plans.
• Ensure events meet safety and cleanliness standards.
