Job summary

Michaels Stores in Vallejo, CA is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and facilitate in-store events including kids' birthday parties, crafting classes, and other celebrations. You will help customers shopping, assist with checkout, and ensure a fun, stress-free experience.

You will manage multiple events, engage guests of all ages, demonstrate crafts, handle add-ons like goody bags and balloons, and communicate clearly with clients and store teams.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating children's events is required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Retail environment experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple events and adapt to client needs.
• Willingness to cross-train in framing and production.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events at the store, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in crafts; perform face painting and activities.
• Facilitate add-ons (goody bags, balloons) to company standards and communicate with clients/store team.
• Assist customers with shopping, product location, and checkout; enroll in Rewards and Private Label Credit Card programs.
• Complete administrative tasks such as emails, calls, and paperwork; adjust plans based on feedback; ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Contribute to stores’ SOPs, recovery, and stocking duties; participate in daily cleaning and store maintenance.
