Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition and Retention | Recruitment Strategist

There’s a reason HUNTER is recognized as a PRWeek Best Place To Work and has been named PRovoke “Consumer Agency of the Year” not once, but twice: At HUNTER, we EARN IT — consumer attention, the trust and loyalty of clients, and the dedication of our staff, currently 350+ strong and counting.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

You’re a curious, nimble and versatile creative. Someone who’s ready to craft an idea from the strategic or conceptual phase and turn it into a killer client presentation. You can give direction to other creatives but also execute your own ideas. You’re a creative problem solver through and through, as well as a collaborator who can adapt to different work styles.

We want you to challenge convention and even your own creativity to produce work that’s thumb-stopping, clever, funny and even important. The kind of stuff the world wants to talk about. You must be able to work confidently and effectively across a variety of industries, ranging from food/beverage and culinary to health/beauty/wellness as well as tech, retail and fashion. You have proven earned media experience in an in-house or agency setting.

You’ll be responsible for driving the agency’s best-in-class ideation processes and concepting big ideas/creative recommendations that meet strategic objectives, drive earned media and engage conversation. You will sit on our Specialty Leadership Team (SLT) and report intothe Executive Creative Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 8 -12 years of relevant experience, preferably in a communications agency setting with demonstrated earned media experience
  • A portfolio of examples of high caliber creative work where you specifically lead the transformation of strategic thinking into best-in-class, earned-worthy creative work
  • Ability to craft and deliver presentations that sell ideas and expand client relationships
  • Ability to build and lead a team of art directors, copywriters, creators and designers, while also effectively collaborating with other internal and external teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

EXPECTATIONS FOR SUCCESS

  • Think Big: Champion the development of on-strategy, executable ideas and campaigns that are rooted in research, insights or a cultural tension.
  • Innovate: Inspire staff to think differently and more effectively. Research and introduce new ideation practices and staff trainings that lead us to big ideas, resulting in creating “Work That Matters”. Regularly share resources with staff (newsletters, book recommendations, trainings) to keep the importance of creativity top-of-mind.
  • Keep Up – You stay updated as to what’s going on in the world around you. You understand and participate in culture. You know enough AI to be dangerous and understand how to adapt it to real world creative. You’re always looking for the next big thing.
  • Think Strategically: Collaborate with Insights team/MDs to determine what information is needed to help shape strat-storms and brainstorms. Work along account teams to gain clarity and tighten up creative briefs.
  • Win New Business: Participate in new business presentations/pitches, play a lead role with clients, galvanize a room and establish credibility as a creative expert.
  • Lead by Example: Serve as a role model for young leaders/peers who aspire to hold leadership positions within the agency.
  • Operate with a DEI lens: Be culturally sensitive and challenge how our creative recommendations could impact diverse audiences. Consult with internal and external experts to ensure we’re being representative, culturally mindful, and inclusive.
  • Seek Different Perspectives: Within the planning process, assemble staff teams of different levels, backgrounds, expertise spanning our NY, London, LA offices together to ideate and uphold our “Better Together” agency value.

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, the Company believes the target range of base compensation for this role is $140,000 - $165,000. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.

At HUNTER, we work hard and play hard, and while we have all the benefits you’d expect —competitive health and dental insurance plans, a 401K company match and generous PTO — we also provide:

  • a “work from anywhere in the US” policy (up to four weeks a year);
  • a year-round staff training and development curriculum; and
  • a staff-led Action Group dedicated to DEI excellence in the agency and industry (read our DEI statement here: https://hunterpr.com/dei/)

Perks? We have perks. When you work at HUNTER, you can expect Bring Your Parents (And Kids) to Work Days, regular volunteer Days of Service, mid-day Cupcakes and Cocktails mixers and epic Halloween and holiday parties.
