About the role

Quantum Health is seeking a visionary Sr. Director, Design to lead our design organization and drive the creative evolution of our brand. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer and partner closely with colleagues across Marketing, Product, and Executive Leadership to deliver world-class, customer-centered experiences. You will be instrumental in modernizing and refreshing the Quantum Health brand, while honoring the company’s rich history and culture.

This is a rare opportunity to build and shape the future of design at Quantum Health - leading a talented team of full-time and contract designers, writers, and developers - and guide us through an ambitious rebranding effort.

What you’ll do

  • Strategic Leadership: Oversee brand design, UX/UI, web development, copywriting, video production, and event design functions; provide strategic partnership to product design teams.
  • Brand Evolution: Lead the modernization of the Quantum Health brand, balancing innovation with respect for our established identity.
  • Design Excellence: Define and evolve Quantum Health’s design philosophy, systems, and processes, ensuring design consistency and excellence across all touchpoints.
  • Team Building: Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performing, diverse design team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Product, and other business units to deliver cohesive, differentiated brand and user experiences.
  • Executive Representation: Advocate for design at the executive level, championing customer- and user-centered approaches in business strategy discussions.
  • Performance Management: Establish and track design OKRs and success metrics aligned with business priorities.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage the design organization’s budget and resource planning with operational discipline.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay current on design trends, technologies, and best practices to infuse fresh thinking into the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you’ll bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Design, Fine Arts, Communications, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in design leadership roles, including at least 6 years leading design for B2B marketing teams.
  • Proven success building, scaling, and leading high-performing, multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in brand development, UX/UI, and marketing communications.
  • Expertise in implementing scalable design systems and operational frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience leading rebranding initiatives and website launches.
  • Solid understanding of user research, customer insights, and data-driven design practices.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic leader with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and strong execution capabilities.
  • Experience in healthcare, health tech, or employee benefits industries is highly desirable.
  • Passionate advocate for customer needs and human-centered design.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a results-driven mindset.
  • Inspirational, collaborative leader who elevates and empowers teams.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving clarity and innovation.
  • Curious , growth-minded, and committed to continuous learning.
  • Strong administrative/technical skills; Comfort working on a PC using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), IM/video conferencing (Teams & Zoom), and telephones efficiently.
