Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services is seeking a Cook to prepare and plate meals in a fast-paced environment, following standardized recipes and safety procedures.

You will set up stations, measure ingredients, and use ovens, stoves, and utensils while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and customer service. Candidates should have prior cooking experience and be able to obtain a food safety certification.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role required.
• Validated knowledge of basic principles of food preparation and sanitation.
• Must be able to acquire food safety certification.
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
• Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items.
• Safely use utensils including knives and operate ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bake, roast, broil, steam and use various cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods.
• Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines.
• Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor toward guests and staff.
• Adhere to Aramark safety policies and ensure security of company assets.
