Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services is seeking a motivated Cook to translate recipes into delicious, consistent meals in a fast-paced kitchen. You’ll work with fresh ingredients and standard equipment while following safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include preparing a variety of dishes, setting up stations, measuring and portioning ingredients, and upholding food safety and sanitation standards. Prior cooking experience is required, and you must be able to obtain a food safety certification.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role is required.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations is needed.
• Must be able to obtain food safety certification.
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of food according to guidelines and recipes.
• Set up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping and peeling.
• Safely use knives and operate ovens, stoves, and mixers.
• Bake, roast, broil, steam, and apply different cooking methods.
