Job summary

Aramark Correctional Services is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare a variety of meals using standardized recipes and fresh ingredients. You will set up stations, measure and process ingredients, and operate standard kitchen equipment to deliver safe, high-quality meals.

Responsibilities include following production guidelines, maintaining cleanliness and food safety, and upholding customer service standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role
• Knowledge of basic food preparation principles and safety regulations
• Ability to obtain food safety certification
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
• Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
• Safely uses tools including knives
• Operates ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers and related equipment
• Bakes, roasts, broils, steams and uses diverse cooking methods
• Arranges, garnishes and portions food per guidelines
• Stores food following safety policies and procedures
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment and utensils
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor toward guests and colleagues
• Adheres to safety policies and ensures security of assets
