Job summary

Food City in Big Stone Gap, VA is seeking a friendly Food Service Associate dedicated to providing top-notch customer service and bakery support. You will greet customers, assist with cake decorating, and help maintain cake and cookie displays while supporting teamwork across the store.

Applicants should be at least 18, have a willingness to learn, and be able to work on-site. Prior food service is a plus, but not required, as training is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Food Service experience a plus, but not required.
• Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, courteous customer service to support the store mission.
• Maintain a positive, friendly atmosphere through teamwork.
• Prepare and decorate food items including specialty cakes, cupcakes and cookies.
• Maintain and stock cake and cookie cases.
• Take telephone orders for food and specialty cakes.
• Manage inventory, rotate and date products.
• Keep display areas neat and clean.
• Cross-train in multiple areas with varying responsibilities.
