Food City in Chilhowie, Virginia is seeking a friendly Food Service Associate to deliver courteous customer service and support our mission to Run the Best Store in Town. You will greet customers, assist with food preparation, decorate cakes and cookies, maintain display cases, and help with timely order fulfillment.

The ideal candidate will be 18+ years old, able to lift and follow instructions, and work well in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old or older.
• Food service experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to meet standard physical, mental, and visual demands.
• Ability to follow verbal/written instructions and work with others daily.
• Must be able to attend on-site shifts per schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous customer service in support of the company mission.
• Maintain a positive attitude and promote friendliness through teamwork.
• Greet customers and assist with queries, ensuring prompt service.
• Prepare and produce quality foods and products meeting expectations.
• Decorate specialty cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.
• Maintain cookie and cake cases.
• Take telephone orders for food and specialty cakes.
• Rotate and date Food Service products.
• Manage inventory and place product orders.
• Keep display area neat and clean.
• Ensure special cake orders are ready for delivery on time.
• Cross-train in multiple areas with varying responsibilities.
