Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator Apprentice to create and decorate cakes and pastries, ensure quality, and support team members in a fast-paced bakery setting.

You will decorate, assemble, and finish items, maintain records, and deliver excellent customer service while upholding safety and cleanliness standards. Experience in bakery/retail is valued, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Completion of Bakery Decorator Apprentice training or equivalent experience.
• Prior bakery or grocery retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and decorate cakes, tarts, and other bakery items according to standard procedures.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes; maintain production and spoilage records and adjust production sheets as needed.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust schedules for demand.
• Merchandise products in display cases and ensure freshness and proper rotation.
• Guide and support Bakery Decorator Apprentices and other Team Members.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work and shopping environment and follow safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties with accurate signage and pricing.
