Job description

Futura Search Partners is working with a rapidly scaling developer of large-scale digital infrastructure. Our client builds and secures the sites and power that sit underneath advanced computing at national scale, and is expanding capacity at a rate well beyond conventional data center development timelines.

We are appointing a Portfolio Manager to own the program management operating rhythm across a multi-gigawatt portfolio of third-party leased and powered shell sites — from LOI through construction handoff to operations.

Why this role is unusual

Most portfolio program management roles hand you a system and ask you to administer it. This one asks you to build it.

Our client is running twenty-plus concurrent projects across multiple campuses, with a target of moving from signed lease to live power in under six months. There is no legacy PMO to inherit and no established playbook for delivery at this cadence. The person who takes this role will design the framework, stand up the tooling, and make both stick across teams that don't report to them.

For the right person this is a rare thing: a genuinely blank page, at real scale, with executive visibility from day one.

Scope
  • Stage-gate architecture. Design and maintain the framework tracking each site from negotiation through utility lock, lease execution, and balance-of-plant construction — every milestone visible, every dependency owned.
  • Portfolio visibility. Build and run the trackers, dashboards, and data pipelines giving leadership a live read on schedule, cost, risk, and design change across the portfolio.
  • Cross-functional coordination. Work directly with third-party developers, internal construction, utilities, legal, and finance to surface blockers early and protect fixed timelines.
  • Handoff discipline. Transition signed sites to delivery and operations with complete documentation, no dropped terms, and no surprises after mobilization.
What our client is looking for

This is the profile as briefed. It's a starting point rather than a checklist — if you're strong against most of it, we'd still like to hear from you.

  • You have personally built and run the program management infrastructure — trackers, dashboards, reporting cadence — for a large concurrent portfolio of capital projects. Built, not inherited.
  • You've designed a stage-gate or milestone framework from scratch and enforced it across teams outside your reporting line.
  • You hold 20+ workstreams without losing detail, and colleagues rely on your read of the schedule before their own.
  • You've coordinated across legal, finance, construction, and external counterparties on projects where dependencies were messy and the deadline didn't move.
  • You write with enough precision that a senior stakeholder can act on your update without a follow-up question.
  • Documentation and process hygiene are habits you keep under pressure, not things that slip when the pace picks up.

Our client has explicitly asked us to look beyond the sector. If you've run complex, time-boxed capital programs in utility-scale renewables, semiconductor manufacturing, large-scale industrial, or network infrastructure rollout, you are in scope and we'd encourage you to apply.
