Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Crating Associate to assemble packaging and build crates for shipments. The position is 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 4:00am to 1:30pm, with overtime as production demands require.

Base pay starts at $25.00 per hour, with opportunity to grow as skills are demonstrated. Responsibilities include receiving shipping paperwork, selecting materials, cutting lumber with chop saw, assembling crates, and recording weights and pieces in the system.

Qualifications

• Ability to determine appropriate package size.
• Ability to safely operate forklift and scale equipment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks according to production requirements.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 inch.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review paperwork from shipping office.
• Select appropriately sized packaging materials and cut lumber as required.
• If building a crate, cut lumber to required dimensions with chop saw.
• Load window/door units onto packaging work area for crate assembly.
• Assemble carton or crate and secure with staple or nail gun.
• Enter weight and number of pieces into computer and complete shipping documents.
• Other duties as assigned.
