Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Rigging Superintendent to supervise crane and rigging operations on a major gas-fired power project. You will lead craft professionals, enforce safety and Bechtel procedures, and coordinate with subcontractors to meet schedule and budget targets.

The role requires a strong background in crane operations, rigging, and OSHA standards, plus the ability to develop look-ahead plans and ensure qualified personnel are on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management or other relevant technical disciplines from an accredited university and 5–8 years of relevant work experience, or 9–12 years without a degree.
• Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work.
• Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical or power generation construction preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide ES&H leadership and lead safety meetings for crane/rigging teams.
• Manage crane operations, site relocation, assembly/disassembly of telescopic RT/AT and lattice boom cranes.
• Oversee Crane Operator Examiners and operator qualification programs.
• Ensure compliance with Bechtel procedures, OSHA, and project requirements.
• Plan manpower and equipment; monitor progress and schedules.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, training, and personnel mobilization/demobilization.
• Conduct performance reviews and identify training opportunities for rigging personnel.
• Inspect sites for unsafe conditions and enforce safe work practices.
