Job summary

Craneworks in Lanett, AL is hiring an Oiler to support crane operators on job sites and perform rigging tasks for safe lifts. The role involves setting up equipment, signaling, securing loads, and daily vehicle and equipment maintenance.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with a 7:00 am–3:30 pm schedule and overtime/weekend expectations. CDL and OSHA-related certifications are preferred, with room for growth in a growing company.

Qualifications

• Proficient in oral and written communication.
• Pass drug test and background check.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist the crane operator in the maintenance and proper set-up of the crane and accessory equipment
• Understand and perform proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of loads
• Control movements of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces
• Dismantle, maintain, and store rigging equipment
• Manipulate and hoist rigging lines to move or support materials, steel and concrete
• Select gears, cables and shackles according to load size, facilities and work schedule
• Utilize proper hand signals to give direction to workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials
• Properly secure equipment to the trailer before operating truck
• Inspect truck and trailer, turn in trucks inspection report daily to the supervisor, report any mechanical defects and documents maintenance or repairs
• Prepare all necessary rigging and equipment for next day’s jobs before ending current shift
• Clean outside and cab of assigned vehicle daily
• Clean and inspect equipment in shop and yard
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations creating a safe working environment
• Regular and predictable attendance is required
• Other job duties as assigned
