Job summary

CraneWorks/RentalWorks in Lanett, AL is seeking an Oiler to assist the crane operator on job sites, perform rigging setup and signaling, and help secure loads safely. You will follow all State and Federal laws, maintain equipment, and support safe operations in outdoor construction environments. The position offers full-time, non-exempt status with a 7:00 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m. schedule, overtime and weekend work expected, and opportunities for training and advancement within a safety‑driven team.

Qualifications

• Proficient in oral and written communication.
• Pass drug test and background check.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist the crane operator in the maintenance and proper set-up of the crane and accessory equipment.
• Understand and perform proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of loads.
• Control movements of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces.
• Dismantle, maintain, and store rigging equipment.
• Manipulate and hoist rigging lines to move or support materials, steel and concrete.
• Select gears, cables and shackles according to load size, facilities and work schedule.
• Utilize proper hand signals to give direction to workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials.
• Properly secure equipment to the trailer before operating truck.
• Inspect truck and trailer, turn in trucks inspection report daily to the supervisor, report any mechanical defects and documents maintenance or repairs.
• Prepare all necessary rigging and equipment for next day\'s jobs before ending current shift.
• Clean outside and cab of assigned vehicle daily.
• Clean and inspect equipment in shop and yard.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations creating a safe working environment.
