Job summary

Primoris Heavy Civil in Jefferson, LA is seeking an experienced crane operator to lift and position heavy materials on construction sites. You will work with hydraulic and lattice boom cranes and coordinate with riggers, signal persons, and ground crews to ensure safe lifts.

Candidates must hold a valid NCCCO certification, a high school diploma, and 3–5 years of field crane experience. Pre-operation inspections, load chart interpretation, OSHA adherence, daily logs, and safety briefings are

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid NCCCO or equivalent certification for the crane types operated.
• Minimum 3–5 years of verifiable heavy crane experience in civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of crane operations, rigging, and safety procedures.
• Ability to read load charts, blueprints, and construction plans.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and extended hours.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate hydraulic, lattice boom, and other cranes to hoist/move materials.
• Perform pre-operation inspections of cranes and rigging equipment.
• Interpret load charts and follow lifting plans and hand signals.
• Coordinate with ground crews and supervisors for safe lifts.
• Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Maintain daily operation/logs and report issues.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and perform basic maintenance.
• Ensure loads are secured and maneuvers are safe in all conditions.
• Participate in pre-task planning and safety briefings.
