Job summary

Modular Mission Critical is hiring a Crane Operator 2 for our Richmond, VA area site. You will independently set up and operate fixed- and swing-cab telescopic cranes, verify conditions, coordinate with lift team, and maintain control from test lift through placement and shutdown.

Responsibilities include reviewing lift plans, inspecting sites, applying load charts, documenting logs, and ensuring safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years' experience.
• Valid CCO Telescopic Boom Crane - Fixed Cab (TSS) and Swing Cab (TLL) certifications.
• CDL Class A certification when duties include carrier/transport.
• Ability to set up and operate routine telescopic-crane lifts.

Responsibilities

• Review lift plans including weight, radius, boom length, and path.
• Walk the work area to verify access and safety conditions.
• Perform daily inspections and document safety defects.
• Set up cranes per manufacturer procedures and load charts.
• Apply correct load chart, determine gross load and configuration.
• Maintain signal and ground-crew coordination before movement.
• Operate lifts smoothly and safely through all phases.
• Explain crane limits and safety needs to rigging personnel.
