Job summary

Modular Mission Critical is hiring a Crane Operator 1 to operate fixed-cab telescopic cranes at our Richmond-area site. You will perform pre-use checks, assist with setup, and follow signals from the trained supervisor to move loads safely.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED, a TSS certification, and ability to work outdoors. CDL A and state crane qualifications may be needed for certain assignments; competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; two years' related experience preferred.
• Current CCO Telescopic Boom Crane - Fixed Cab (TSS) certification.
• Employer operator evaluation on the crane type used.
• CDL Class A and medical card if carrier/transport duties apply.
• State/local crane qualifications as required by project or client.

Responsibilities

• Review load, route, signal method, and operating limits with lead or trainer.
• Complete pre-use walk-around and cab checks; report issues.
• Assist with crane positioning, mats, cribbing, and outrigger deployment as directed.
• Verify inputs: load weight, radius, boom length, hook, and rigging with a qualified operator.
• Maintain safety: control swing-radius, power lines, and ensure clear personnel areas.
• Perform basic crane operations under supervision and stop if signals are unclear.
• Record inspections, hours, fuel, and work details accurately.
