Job summary

Qualifications

• Operates traveling or stationary crane to lift, move, and position loads using hoisting attachments such as hooks, clamps, slings, or basket.

Responsibilities

• Observes load hookup and determines safety of load.
• Manipulates or depresses crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to instructions.
• Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism.
• Regularly inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
• May attach load to hook or other crane accessory prior to operating crane.
• May repair defective parts on crane.
• May also operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment, and other company vehicles.
