Job summary

Primoris Heavy Civil is seeking an experienced crane operator to operate hydraulic and lattice boom cranes on heavy civil construction sites in Shreveport, LA. You will perform pre-operational checks, interpret load charts, communicate with ground crew, maintain logs, and ensure loads are rigged safely.

A NCCCO certification and 3–5 years of crane experience, plus OSHA knowledge and a valid driver's license, are required. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive health benefits.

Qualifications

• NCCCO certification for relevant crane types (e.g., Lattice Boom, Telescopic Boom)
• Minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience operating cranes in heavy civil construction
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and load charts
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices related to crane operations
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and spatial awareness
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging outdoor environments
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic, lattice boom, and other types of cranes, adhering to all safety regulations and operational procedures
• Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on crane equipment, including inspecting cables, hooks, and slings
• Interpret and understand load charts and lift plans to ensure safe and efficient material handling
• Communicate effectively with ground crew, signal persons, and supervisors using hand signals, radios, and other communication methods
• Maintain accurate daily logs of operations, maintenance, and safety inspections
• Ensure the proper rigging and securing of loads before lifting and moving
• Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner, identifying and mitigating potential hazards
• Assist with other construction site duties as needed, including general labor tasks
