Job summary

Primoris Heavy Civil is seeking a crane operator to safely operate hydraulic and lattice boom cranes on road construction projects in Louisiana. The role requires reading load charts, rigging diagrams, and coordinating with riggers and signal persons to ensure safe lifts.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of crane operating experience on heavy civil projects, NCCCO certification, and a valid driver's license. OT and weekend work may be required; familiarity with Louisiana DOT standards is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• NCCCO certification for relevant crane types.
• 3-5 years of crane operating experience on heavy civil construction projects, specifically road construction.
• Ability to read and interpret load charts, plans, and safety manuals.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime.
• Familiarity with Louisiana state DOT regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic and lattice boom cranes with various lifting capacities to move materials, equipment, and components.
• Perform pre-operational checks, daily inspections, and routine maintenance on crane equipment.
• Read and interpret load charts, blueprints, and rigging diagrams to determine safe lifting capacities and procedures.
• Coordinate with signal persons, riggers, and other team members for precise and safe lifts.
• Adhere to company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site safety plans.
• Maintain clear communication with supervisors regarding lifting operations and hazards.
• Monitor crane operations for stability and load balance, adjusting as needed.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns promptly.
• Assist with rigging and unrigging operations as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area around the crane.
