Job summary

Hydro Extrusions, a global aluminium extrusion leader, is seeking a Crane Operator in Phoenix, AZ. You will operate overhead cranes to move products, perform pre-shift inspections, and support packing and production while maintaining a safe, organized work area.

The role requires the ability to read and follow instructions in English, with prior crane experience preferred. Night shifts with a differential are available, offering a competitive starting rate and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate an overhead crane safely and efficiently in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to understand, speak, and follow basic verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to complete pre-use equipment inspections and report safety or equipment issues.
• Able to stand for extended periods and perform climbing, reaching, walking, and lifting within OSHA guidelines.
• Ability to read, understand and follow work instructions and lockout/tagout procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead cranes to move aluminum products, racks, bundles, and materials in packing and production areas.
• Perform pre-shift inspections and report defects, malfunctions, or safety concerns promptly.
• Supply packing stations with required materials and remove scrap or completed products to support production flow.
• Follow safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and daily safety meetings.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area using 5S practices.
• Assist with packing, banding, and other production tasks when crane duty is not required.

Night Shift 6:00P to 6:00 AM EOWEO

Shift Premium

$1.50/hour extra for shift differential

What you will be doing

• Operate overhead cranes to safely move aluminum products, racks, bundles, and materials throughout the packing and production areas.
• Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and report equipment defects, malfunctions, or safety concerns immediately.
• Supply packing stations with required materials and remove scrap or completed product efficiently to support production flow.
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements, job safety analyses (JSAs), and participation in daily safety meetings.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area through housekeeping and 5S practices.
• Assist with packing, banding, and other production activities when crane operation duties are not required.

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

• Ability to operate an overhead crane safely and efficiently in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Ability to understand, speak, and follow basic verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to complete pre-use equipment inspections and accurately identify and report safety or equipment issues.
• Ability to work standing for extended periods and perform frequent climbing, reaching, walking, and lifting within OSHA guidelines.
• Ability to read, understand, and consistently follow work instructions, safety procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous overhead crane operating experience in a manufacturing, extrusion, metals, or industrial production environment.
• Experience supporting packaging, shipping, or material handling operations.
• Familiarity with 5S, housekeeping standards, and continuous improvement practices.
• Experience conducting equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe material handling practices.
