Job summary

Hydro Extrusion USA, LLC is seeking an Extrusion Supervisor to lead production on an assigned shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality extrusion operations. You will guide a team, manage presses and aging ovens, and drive improvements to meet safety and quality targets.

The role reports to the Extrusion Manager and requires at least 3 years in manufacturing with leadership experience, plus strong observation of safety practices and process management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in production.
  • Minimum 1 year leading, coordinating, or directing production employees or crews.
  • Experience monitoring production metrics (efficiency, utilization, throughput, quality).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety, quality, and production processes.
  • Ability to read production documentation and perform basic math.
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and tape measures.

Responsibilities

  • Coach, develop, and support team leaders and production employees to improve performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead daily operations of extrusion presses and aging ovens to meet production, quality, and safety targets.
  • Monitor metrics (productivity, utilization, efficiency, recovery) and drive improvements.
  • Conduct safety observations and promote a strong safety culture; ensure EH&S compliance.
  • Develop and maintain extrusion processes and SOPs to support operational excellence.
  • Ensure accurate quality inspections, production documentation, and reporting.

Job Summary

The Extrusion Supervisor is responsible for leading extrusion manufacturing operations on an assigned shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role provides leadership to production teams, drives continuous improvement initiatives, supports workforce development, and maintains compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. This position reports to the Extrusion Manager.

What you will be doing
  • Coach, develop, and support team leaders and production employees to improve performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead daily operations of extrusion presses and aging ovens to achieve production, quality, and safety targets.
  • Monitor key manufacturing metrics, including productivity, utilization, efficiency, and recovery rates, and implement actions to improve results.
  • Conduct routine safety observations, promote a strong safety culture, and ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain extrusion processes and standard operating procedures to support operational excellence.
  • Ensure quality inspections, production documentation, and reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives that improve productivity, quality, and equipment performance.
What will make you successful

Required Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in a production environment.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience leading, coordinating, or directing production employees, team leaders, or work crews.
  • Experience monitoring production performance metrics such as efficiency, utilization, throughput, or quality measures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing safety, quality, and production processes.
  • Ability to read production documentation and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and tape measures.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • Extrusion manufacturing experience.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, or reliability-centered initiatives.
  • Completion of leadership development or supervisory training programs.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
