Position: Crane Operator

Location: Denver, CO

Reports to: Branch Manager

RMS is seeking experienced full-time crane operators to join our growing branch. Candidates must meet all listed requirements to be considered. Salary: $41.73/hour - $54.27/hour DOE and certifications

Summary: Ensures safety first, proper crane setup, and safe lifting operations, maintaining customer focus. Complies with all applicable State and Federal laws, safety, and environmental policies during job tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Review next-day job assignments and prepare necessary rigging and equipment at the end of each shift.
• Complete and submit Field Tickets, noting any chargeable equipment used.
• Maintain a daily payroll record of hours worked, submitted to the branch by 10:00 a.m. each Monday.
• If not assigned to a job, conduct equipment inspections, cleaning, and maintenance.
• Promptly answer phone calls and pagers.
• Assist in training safe crane operation practices.
• Review crane service and operation manuals periodically.
• Clean, inspect, and organize equipment in the shop and yard; maintain cleanliness of the shop, racks, and break room.
• Read, interpret, and calculate load capacities using crane load charts and manuals.
• Program crane computers for proper setup and safely position the crane on site.
• Ensure signal persons understand and perform proper hand signals before lifts.
• Perform rigging techniques to ensure safe load lifting.
• Inspect crane, truck, or trailer before operation and complete vehicle inspection reports.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current state-issued Commercial Driver License (CDL).
• Crane operating license (NCCCO).
• Minimum of 3 years operating hydraulic cranes.
• Ability to operate crane using hand signals.

Skills Required:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for instructions, safety compliance, and record-keeping.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
