Description:
The primary purpose of this position is to set up and operate equipment and processes for various phases of transition manufacturing. This equipment includes a significant level of automation. The role involves setting up and operating a wide range of machinery and tools across different phases:
Work from manufacturing information, drawings, and instructions (written and verbal). Interpret detailed drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine tools and machining operations. Use material handling devices such as jib and B/C cranes and forklifts to load/unload parts and assist crane operators. Perform minor equipment operations like changing nozzles, verifying oil levels, and checking filters.
Follow Siemens values, procedures, and policies, and adapt to shifting priorities. Be a team player by assisting co-workers with training, handling, and measurements. Maintain a clean and organized work area, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure proper tooling storage.
Assist quality assurance with measuring, testing, and recording operational data. Conduct in-process and integrity checks to maintain drawing tolerances. A basic knowledge of shop mathematics, operations, and the use of precision measuring instruments is required.
Require 2-3 years of applied trades training, experience working with stainless alloys, blueprint reading, metrology, visual weld inspection, and understanding electrical schematics. Must be capable of using close-tolerance measuring devices and performing measurement conversions. Certification in forklift, crane operation, and LPI is required.
Computer literacy is necessary. U.S. or Canadian citizenship is required. The role demands judgment, initiative, and ingenuity to work independently and solve complex problems across various processes.
Set up equipment and parts carefully to avoid damage. Use various tools, precision instruments, and software, including data collection systems. Adhere to safety protocols to prevent injuries, especially when operating forklifts, cranes, or performing lifting tasks. Work environment includes noise, dirt, oils, and fumes, with safety gear mandatory.
Physical requirements include bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, and occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling items weighing 5 to 50 pounds. Use PPE as specified, and ensure safety and health regulations are followed at all times.
